Background information
Loading and unloading bay numbering. When a warehouse or factory has multiple loading and unloading bays, they are often numbered. It's convenient because the driver often knows in advance, or from the gatekeeper, where they are expected. This numbering has proven indispensable, especially at large distribution centers and transport companies. The numbering can be found on the "dock shelters," the most times black flaps that keep out the weather while the truck is loading/unloading. Numbering is also frequently found on signs directly above the loading/unloading doors. At large sites with many different buildings belonging to a single organization, it's sometimes common to number not only the loading and unloading bays but also the buildings themselves. This is common at various large factory sites. Think of a truck factory, chemical company, or steel producer. But also, for example, at larger (train) maintenance workshops.
Note: Number plates can be ordered from Markenburg in various colors. The choice of the exact design (full engraved or line engraved numbers) depends on the color you choose.
