Background information:
Retaining walls are common. Retaining walls are used in many places where a slope would take up too much space. This type of retaining wall with T-shaped concrete elements is found in various places, including in Europe.
Construction details:
The T-shaped concrete elements are held together in various ways. For example, during construction, large steel pins are inserted vertically through the horizontally oriented wings of the T shapes. But also at the back of each element, the elements, geotextile and other important components are connected to each other using steel eyes and pins. Geotextile or variants thereof are used to stabilize the ground body and to prevent the concrete elements from "leaking" along the seams.
Another interesting detail is that the elements basically have a standard model. Until the edges are discussed. Then it turns out that almost every element is custom-made.
