More information

Background information:
In the '50s of the twentieth century, the emphasis was on the construction of housing, so that the shortage of housing of that time could be reduced. That puts the garages, which have served as an example for the Markenburg models, in a different light. Relatively few garages were built in the 50s. The hinges of the doors and the neat segment arches above it, shows that the design is not cut back on the aesthetics.
The garages are, since the completion of it, rented out to people who live in the area and like to use such storage. Certainly at the present time they are popular, because there are not much more garages located in the area.

Architectural details
The garages are built of bricks in a "wildverband". Above the outward opening doors you will find a segment arch. In both gables a round window is located, that is divided into four segments. The high positioning of that window prevents insight into the garage.
The saddle roof, which includes anthracite ceramic tiles, ensures that the garages as a whole fits well in the area.
