Background information:
This type of merchandise booth was built in Noord-Brabant, and other provinces as well. One of them was built in the town of Waalwijk and was demolished in 1989. The same type of booth was built in Drunen, Geertruidenberg, Vlijmen and Waspik (nearby towns). The merchandise from the towns was collected here and sent by train.
Incoming merchandise was also stored here. In Waalwijk mainly animal skins, leather, salt and shoes.
