Background information:

In the purification house, the resulting raw light gas is cooled in a condenser, where the less volatile components such as coal tar and water condense. After the condenser, the gas mixture passes through an exhauster pump another tar separator to remove all tar that has not condensed in the condenser. The gas mixture that remains now consists of hydrogen, methane, carbon monoxide, gaseous hydrocarbons, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, ammonia, hydrogen sulphide and various cyan compounds.

Architectural details:

Two floors, built from stone masonry walls with piers. And provided with decorative masonry in various places. Traces can be found in the façades of concrete constructions, floor parts resting on the masonry walls. The plinth is made of cement, which is applied to the brickwork. The saddle roof has corrugated sheets, a change on the original. The façades also show that the building has undergone many changes. What is striking is the ladder that provides access to an outside door on the second floor.
