Background information:

The boilerhouse was part of the electricity supply together with the engine room. The gas works generated electricity for their own use and sometimes for buildings in the immediate vicinity. In the boiler house a boiler was heated with gas to drive a steam engine. The steam engine powered the generator that was in the engine room.

Architectural details:

The original building has stone walls that are covered with concrete (when it comes to the gables). The facades are adorned with ornamental masonry and pillars, even at the corners of the building. The base is made of cement, which is applied to the masonry. The later extension on the south side consists of semi-brick-binding masonry. It is clear that in modern times, less demands were placed on the aesthetics of the building. The steel window frames of the extension are equipped with glass panels fixed with putty.
